This is another word for permission . Like in email marketing, when a user subscribes to a  email list. They are providing a affirmation of consent or asking for permission to receive information via email from you.

This is a program that automatically answers email sent to it. Autorepsonders are great for answering users request to sign up for your email list.  Add a list builder to your website and once a prospect signs up to your email list , have your autorepsonder send them a immediate reply.

Bounced Emails

A bounced email is an email that is sent to a inbox that has been rejected and sent back to the sender. This usually happens when sending to bad email addresses or un-opted in email lists.

Call to Action

A statement in your marketing message that asks your prospect to take some form of action. Like : ” click here to sign up for our 30 -day trial “

Campaign ( e-mail )

This is term is used to describe the overall emails in your email marketing strategy.

Signed into law by President George W. Bush on December 16, 2003, establishes the United States’ first national standards for the sending of commercial e-mail and requires the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to enforce its provisions. The acronym CAN-SPAM derives from the bill’s full name: Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography And Marketing Act of 2003. (ref. wikipedia )

This is act that the reciepents of your emails take when they click on any link in your email.

Confirmed Opt in

This is a term used to describe the process of authentication a prospect goes through when signing up for a email list. The prospects generally signs up for a list and is sent a email with link asking if they want to recive information from you. The user then will click the link and is taken to a page  confirming that they are signed up to the list.

Conversion Rate

Is the ratio of visitors who convert casual content views or website visits into desired actions based on subtle or direct requests from marketers, advertisers, and content creators. ( ref wikipeida )

Double Opt

This is the same as confimend opt-in. Opt-in email marketing is online best practice.

Email Blocking

This is a term generally used to describe the blocking of an ip.
